Connections — group the Uma Musume into four hidden sets
umadle Connections is a daily Uma Musume grouping puzzle inspired by the NYT Connections game. Sixteen Umamusume are laid out in a grid, and your job is to sort them into four hidden sets of four that share a secret link — a running style, a race distance, a coat colour or a training dorm.
Every day has a fresh, uniquely-solvable board. You get four mistakes before the game ends, so weigh the overlaps carefully — some Uma Musume look like they fit two groups. Solve all four categories to keep your streak and share a spoiler-free emoji grid.
A free Uma Musume Pretty Derby word-game: no download, no sign-up, the same puzzle for every player worldwide, resetting daily at 00:00 UTC.
How to play
- Sixteen Umamusume tiles hide four groups of four, each sharing one secret category.
- Select four tiles and press Submit. A correct set locks in and reveals its category.
- "One away…" means exactly three of your four belong together — swap one and retry.
- Four mistakes end the game. Solve all four groups to win the day.
Tips & strategy
- Commit your most certain group first — every locked set shrinks the search space for the rest.
- Categories span running style, distance, coat colour and dorm. Expect at least one trap character who plausibly fits two groups.
- Count candidates per suspected category before submitting: if you find five that fit, one of them belongs to another group — find which before you spend a mistake.
- Use Shuffle. Rearranging the grid breaks visual anchoring and often makes a hidden group jump out.
